I haven’t posted since last November, but I have an excuse! I started a memoir in January and I’ve been toiling away at that and sadly avoiding my blog. One would think I could manage both, but somehow I couldn’t wrap my head around two different writing exercises at the same time. As if I might bleed the creativity that I needed for the memoir into the blog. Or I just lacked the mental coordination – from age, too much wine, too many teenagers (hence the former). But in my defense, taking on a memoir was a big project. I hadn’t ever committed to something on that scale before and frankly, it was intimidating. I probably would have neglected my blog (which I love) indefinitely if I hadn’t been coaxed into creating this website and told I needed some new posts once it went live. This post is really just an fyi. I did write another one recently called The New Garden which you can read below.
